Carefix is a specialized brand of medical bras for postsurgical care, which are suitable for a number of oncological and aesthetic mammary gland surgical procedures. The products are intended for the period immediately following specific breast surgeries (mastectomy, quadrantectomy, lumpectomy, breast augmentation and reduction, reconstruction, breast lifts, breast implant removal, and implant revision surgery) and in the course of radiation therapy. The bras have seamless knitting. Their innovative design combines a delicate fabric and a 4-way stretch, which provides excellent fixation, stabilization, and support for relieving pain immediately after surgical interventions.

The Carefix brand follows the expertise of the Tytex company – a leading manufacturer of medical textile and postsurgical care products. The company has a well-developed distribution network worldwide, and all of its products comply with international medical, ecological, and corporate standards.

The Carefix products are available through the official distributor for Bulgaria, the digital store www.womancare.bg.

Detailed descriptions, including each item’s advantages, are available on the website.

Lymphedema, a possible consequence of breast cancer surgery, is a serious condition accompanying the daily life of many women who have undergone such procedures. It could develop following radical breast cancer surgeries, so it is crucial to be aware of the factors influencing the risk of lymphedema. Although the exact percentage of people who develop lymphedema is unclear, some studies suggest it may vary between 20% and 40% or even more. Some factors can heighten the risk of lymphedema after an operation. The volume of lymph nodes that had been removed during the procedure might be of importance. In a mastectomy, where the entire mammary gland and most of the lymph nodes in the armpit area are removed, the risk is higher compared to partial removal of the breast or the lymph nodes. The non-invasive breast cancer treatment methods, such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy after surgery, could also increase the risk of lymphedema. Moreover, factors such as age, excess weight, genetic predisposition, and previous occurrences of lymphedema could also play a role in a person’s individual risk. It is important to note that each body is unique and might have a different potential for developing lymphatic stagnation. That is precisely why the Carefix bras series is an excellent solution for patients with lymphedema or lymphostasis in the area of the axilla or of the posterior axial line. The bras’ form, texture, and appearance provide maximum ergonomics in a zone with a low level of compression. Patients in the process of rehabilitation or periodic manual lymphatic drainage of the upper limbs could regularly use the models.

In the course of radiation therapy, in addition to the heightened risk of lymphostasis, skin reactions such as burns are observed quite often. These can arise in different patients and with different severity. The reactions include redness, dryness, hypersensitivity, itching, and skin sores. The level and frequency of the skin reactions depend on several factors, including a person’s skin sensitivity, the type and dose of the radiation therapy applied, and other factors related to the patient and the treatment.

The lighter skin reactions are more common and can affect 30% to 50% of the patients. The more severe reactions, such as dermatitis and ulcerated lesions, are less common and occur in a smaller percentage of the population.

Even though the skin reactions described are usually mild and temporary, some patients may experience more serious discomfort. In the delicate period of treatment, the Carefix medical bras could be used regularly, as their aerated fabric has a proven clinical effect and does not impede the convalescence and epithelization of the skin, nor does it absorb the emollient creams or unguents used in the course of treatment. The seamless design is an additional guarantee for the lack of discomfort in the zones of cicatrix or those with a skin reaction.

The models have adjustable straps and an option to select a buttoning style: a zipper, a Velcro strap, hooks, or loops. All the models have front buttoning as a sign of extra care from the manufacturer towards the patients during the convalescence period. Front buttoning also eliminates pain and discomfort, regardless of the type of operation and the area of operational access, with a subsequent scar.

Medical bras are chosen by patients who practice a sport after a mastectomy, a breast reconstruction, or a quadrantectomy due to their excellent fixation and the wide underband that encircles the chest.

Some models are equipped with small pockets for placing a prosthesis in patients with mastectomy, making the models exceptionally practical and discreet for everyday use.

www.womancare.bg assists with highly qualified consultants who cooperate with the best choice of size, model, type of buttoning, and design. The carefully chosen lingerie from the Carefix brand creates comfort in delicate moments and helps patients regain their confidence and swiftly adapt to their lives’ regular rhythm.

The clinical experience with the products shows exclusively positive results among patients who have undergone surgical procedures.
